Machu Picchu is globally known for being one of the modern Seven World Wonders. Indeed, it is the best preserved known inca city in the world and surrounded by a stunning mountain panorama. This is why every day 6000 visitors crowd into the site. In order to accommodate all these tourists, a whole city, called Agua calientes, was built from scratch. Restaurants, Bars, Hotels and souvenir shops are supposed to be everything the modern tourist's heart could wish for and, all in all, it feels like spending the night at Disney Land. So is this historic Inca site really worth a visit or is it just too crowded to enjoy?

Lake Titicaca: How to best visit the peruvian side

The famous Lake Titicaca is the biggest lake in South America, the highest navigable lake in the world. Indeed, its altitude of 3800m is quite breathtaking and not just becuse of its beautiful landscape. Part of the lake is located in Peru whether the other part belongs to Bolivia. On the peruvian side of the lake, its main city Puno, its authentic villages around Socca and its floating reed islands of the Uros are definitely worth a visit.

Another trip, another continent. This time, we discovered South America for the first time and we were not disappointed. During our two week trip, we saw so many different landscapes: from colonial cities to beautiful mountain and volcano chains. It was not always easy as we had to fight against altitude sickness and cold nights but we were soon compensated by breathtaking landscapes, a special fauna with llamas and alpacas as well as unique places such as Machu Picchu and the Uyuni Salt Desert. Calakmul is a very old Maya site and UNESCO World Heritage in the State of Campeche in Mexico. Its first dated inscription is from as early as 431 AD. At the time, Calakmul was one of the most important sites in the region. Between 500 and 800 AD over 50.000 people lived here. Its particularity is its situation in the middle of the Jungle, 60 kilometers from the next highway and, thus, not that easily accessible. Itinerary: 3 weeks backpacking in Cambodia

In Summer 2016, we had 3,5 weeks holidays ahead of us. We wanted to discover Cambodia but as flights were quite expensive we decided to book flights to Bangkok, stayed a couple of days in the city before taking an Air Asia flight to Siem Reap. Most of the time, we travelled by public transport and tuk tuk and, as you know, this takes much longer than having private transport arranged. But when we have time and want to discover a country, we still like this way to travel.
