How to best spend a week-end in Normandy

As you know, we aren't full-time travellers and we actually like our day jobs quite a lot. This is why, week-end trips are our elixir of life. Sometimes you just need to open your eyes and see what is around you. Normandy, and more specifically Deauville, is a typical week-end destination for Parisians but also from Brussels it is only 3,5 hours by car. You are looking for beautiful white beaches, historic places and authentic villages? Then this is your place to go.

Visit Compiègne: A walk through the imperial city

Compiègne, not even 90 kilometers north-east from Paris, is a great place to discover a typical french city far away from the usual beaten tracks. It is also a city with a rich history because Louis XV as well as Napoleon I and Napoleon III came here for leisure and hunting. In the famous forest of Compiègne, the Armistice of the first World War was signed in 1918. Visit Compiègne and walk through the imperial city.
