When thinking about Sweden, most people probably think of the lakes with its red cabins, wide landscapes and... well... reindeers. While we did see lots of lakes and even more red cabins on our road trip in southern Sweden, we somehow missed the northern wilderness and its special fauna. This is why, we decided to go North and experience another Sweden, a much more lonely Sweden with unpaved roads, an uninhabited landscape as far as the eye can see and, of course, reindeers, these beautiful animals from the North.
The Pointe du Raz is almost but not quite the westernmost point of France but its huge waves hitting the beautiful high cliffs, its strong wind and its old light tower, named the "Little Old Lady" make this place a popular spot for tourists and locals. If you want to discover this beautiful spot at the end of the word, the best way to visit the famous Pointe du Raz is by hiking.
This was our first camper van experience. We had decided quite last notice to take a week off during summer and rent a camper van to go to Slovenia. We had not planned the full itinerary before leaving but this is the result of our 10 days trip to Slovenia:
Brussels, this is the city we live in. The capital of Belgium in the heart of Europe is often forgotten by many travellers. We often have friends and families coming to visit for a week-end and we started to have our favourite tour ready for those who want to visit Brussels in one day. So come with us to discover our must-sees.
We do love to travel in a camper van and I must say that Denmark was a perfect destination for that. In only a bit more than one week we were able to discover a big part of the country. This is our itinerary:
It is a must-do when travelling to South Africa: The Cape of Good Hope, only 60 kilometers from Cape Town away, is the most South-Western point of the African continent, although many people mistakenly think that it is the most southern point in Africa. Its steep cliffs rising into the water impress hundreds of visitors every day. Coming from Cape Town, you can spend a great day visiting the Cape of Good Hope and its surroundings.
The Colosseum is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Rome. Indeed, every day thousands of travelers visit the biggest amphitheater ever built which means that lines can get quite long and waiting times are untenable. You were not planning to spend your precious time in Rome waiting in a line? Then stay with us and continue reading.
As you know, we aren't full-time travellers and we actually like our day jobs quite a lot. This is why, week-end trips are our elixir of life. However, taking the plane over and over again starts to weigh on our conscience, especially when we have another option. This is why, we made a small overview of all these beautiful destinations to reach from Brussels by train.
We all know the Great Imperial Rome from movies, history lessons and other stories. It often feels like a fictional place which seems familiar and yet so far away. When visiting Rome for the first time, traveling back in time and seeing this place come to life is an unforgettable experience. And as we are often short on time, we want to see the most of it in only half a day.
Tenerife is so much more than an all-inclusive tourist destination. It is home to Spain's highest mountain with its unique National Park, it offers beautiful black beaches, breathtaking sea views and an extraordinary culinary experience.
As you know, we aren't full-time travellers and we actually like our day jobs quite a lot. This is why, week-end trips are our elixir of life. Sometimes you just need to open your eyes and see what is around you. Normandy, and more specifically Deauville, is a typical week-end destination for Parisians but also from Brussels it is only 3,5 hours by car. You are looking for beautiful white beaches, historic places and authentic villages? Then this is your place to go.
When travelling, I love spending time in Cafés at the most beautiful places and just enjoy the moment. However, it is not always easy to order your favourite coffee because every country has its own coffee specialties and many local places don't always have a menu. This is what you need to know to order your coffee like a pro on the Canary islands.
After our last year's camper van experience in Slovenia, we just had to have another camper van travel. This time, we chose the low season and a much camper van friendlier destination. So instead of going South, we headed North, to Denmark. This is the full story.
Machu Picchu is globally known for being one of the modern Seven World Wonders. Indeed, it is the best preserved known inca city in the world and surrounded by a stunning mountain panorama. This is why every day 6000 visitors crowd into the site. In order to accommodate all these tourists, a whole city, called Agua calientes, was built from scratch. Restaurants, Bars, Hotels and souvenir shops are supposed to be everything the modern tourist's heart could wish for and, all in all, it feels like spending the night at Disney Land. So is this historic Inca site really worth a visit or is it just too crowded to enjoy?
Did you know that a big part of Bolivia is almost not inhabited? This is the part we want you to discover. From its more than 10.000 square kilometers big salt desert to its volcano region in Sur Lipez, with its white, blue and pink lagoons, you will enjoy a wide and beautiful landscape and see what it's like to live in one of the least populated regions on earth where 90% of the population have no access to electricity.
