The Pointe du Raz is almost but not quite the westernmost point of France but its huge waves hitting the beautiful high cliffs, its strong wind and its old light tower, named the "Little Old Lady" make this place a popular spot for tourists and locals. After our last year's camper van experience in Slovenia, we just had to have another camper van travel. This time, we chose the low season and a much camper van friendlier destination. So instead of going South, we headed North, to Denmark. This is the full story.
Most people, when thinking about Denmark, think about its capital with its colorful houses, its canals and last but not least its Mermaid statue. Who in Europe has not already thought about a week-end trip to Copenhagen? But there is more to the country than just its capital. Indeed, Denmark is a beautiful country with diverse countrysides from huge white sanded beaches, dunes and cliffs to wide yellow rape seed fields. This is the Denmark we wanted to discover. Here are our 10 must-sees.
If you love nature, an excursion to Mandø island, a small island of 8 km2 with only 40 inhabitants in the middle of the Wadden sea, is a must-do in Denmark. The small access road which gets flooded twice per day makes this day trip an unforgettable experience.
With no major experience in camping, we suddenly got this idea of travelling in a camper van to enjoy the freedom of stopping whenever and wherever. We therefore decided to just give it a try by renting a campervan for one week in August 2018. Our main destination: Slovenia.
